Classes in theatre, acting, film and stand-up comedy

Have you ever wanted to explore the performing arts? Does your child exhibit a talent for acting or a passion for filmmaking? Perhaps you want to add new dimension to your business career or make a better impression in public. If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, the Sage Studio program at Raue Center is for you! Sage Studio is a collection of educational classes - for all ages - featuring workshops in theatre, film, acting and stand-up comedy.

All classes take place during the summer. Thanks to the support of The Foglia Family Foundation, tuition for each course is only $100 per student!

Theatre Camp
Dates: June 14-July 1
Ages 10–13: 8:00 am—12:00 pm
Ages 14-18: 1:00—4:00 pm
Tuition: $100

A 3-week course with emphasis on building ensemble unity, individual acting development, vocal enhancement and stage movement. Participants will write, act and direct.

Ages 10-13 (8:00 am—12:00 pm)
Focus will be primarily on an introduction to theatre, ensemble work and individual acting, directing and writing.

Ages 14-18 (1:00—4:00 pm)
The camp provides perspective for children wishing to pursue the art form with regards to the business of acting including audition technique, refining a role, viewpoints and college prep. Vocal and physical training included.

Film Bootcamp
Participants: Ages 15 and older

The Film Bootcamp not only teaches filmmaking process in theory, but supplies mentored hands-on training culminating in the creation of 1—3 short films. Each student chooses a specialty to study—directing, writing or cinematography—and will also crew the other short films for added experience. This “double-duty” exposes the student to a broad view of filmmaking, teaching them how all aspects influence a film shoot.

Comedy Improv
Dates: July 12-27
Participants: Ages 11-18
Time: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Whether you want to stretch your imagination and be more creative or find a group of people who love to laugh in full cooperation--this class is for you. You will learn how to expand yourself with improvisation. Based on the work of Second City and Improv Olympics, you will learn games and exercises that encourage important life skills such as self-confidence and knowing when to lead and when to follow. This will all be done in a supportive, nurturing environment where everyone is accepted and every idea is built upon. Join us in exploring the wonderful world of your imagination. Find the greatest potential in yourself and others and see more possibilities in life… and have a laugh along the way. Requirements? None. You do not have to be funny--just bring a sense of playfulness!
