Now in its ninth season and selling out almost every event, Lucy’s Comedy Café is one of Raue Center’s longest running programs and the cornerstone of our comedy programming. This hilarious series has featured amazing regional and national comedians including Dwayne Kennedy, Rocky LaPorte, Patti Vasquez, John DaCosse, Mike Preston, Pat Tomasulo, Tim Benker and many more.
May 25 @ 8:30p
The headliner will be Dobie Maxwell: Dobie Maxwell a nationally touring, award-winning comedian. He has been perfecting his craft since 1985. Dobie has worked with such notable comedians as Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy, Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Tim Allen, Drew Carey, Andrew “Dice” Clay, Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, Dennis Miller, Chris Rock, and many others too.
This Lucy’s will feature Steve DeClark: Steve DeClark is a 20 year veteran of the comedy industry. He has been seen on Comedy Central, ABC’s America’s Funniest People and the motion picture, The Borrower.
Brian Williams has spent the last 4 years launching his stand-up and improv careers. He has brought his witty presence to the stages of Second City, IO, Zanies and Lucy’s.
June 1 @ 8:30p
This Lucy’s will feature Tony Vinh: Tony is often described by fellow comedians as the Asian Chris Rock. They even call him “Chris Wok.” Not because his delivery can sometimes sound like the legendary comedian, but because Tony’s comedy offers a similarly sharp, clever and absurd commentary on life– only from the point of view of an Asian-American who grew up in the Midwest. Today, Tony is a nationally touring comedian performing at clubs everywhere. He has also performed in Asia and Europe, and he’s been a crowd favorite at festivals like Second City LA Comedy Festival, San Diego Comedy Festival, Gilda’s Laughfest, Westside Showdown, Funniest Person In Austin contest, Out of Bounds Comedy Festival and the Detroit Comedy Festival.
The evening will be hosted by Ted Willson: Ted Willson is a Chicago area native that makes audiences laugh with his stories that are familiar, funny, and fortunate that they didn’t happen to you. He has been seen poking fun at life and himself at numerous venues including Zanies, Kenosha Comedy Club, and WGN.
WGN Radio personality, John DaCosse, curates Lucy’s Comedy Cafe. During his 30+ years in stand-up comedy, the brilliant John DaCosse has developed a solid reputation nationwide. He has opened for big names like Ellen DeGeneres, George Lopez, Craig Ferguson and Billy Gardell. John has appeared on NBC, Comedy Central and TBS. Mr. DaCosse has also served as an audience warm-up for Rosie O’Donnell and The Oprah Winfrey Show. He can be heard, along with his character voices, regularly on the Steve Cochran morning show on WGN Radio.
