1776 has earned the reputation of serving truly innovative New American Cuisine. 1776 was rated 3 Stars by the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Magazine, Best Restaurant in the Northwest Suburbs by the Daily Herald and is listed as one of the top 100 restaurants in the area by the American Tasting Institute. 1776’s menu features Jambalaya, Rack of Lamb, Beer Battered Gulf Shrimp, Maryland Crab Cakes and Iowa Pork Chops. 1776 also serves a variety of seafood and wild game specialties. Choices may include Buffalo, Elk, Venison, Quail or Ostrich. 1776 offers a Tapas dinner every Wednesday and Thursday. Each week features a different menu of nine appetizer sized courses for $25.50. If you would like a sampling of 5 coordinating wines, the price is $40.00. Every Monday, enjoy 25% off of any bottled wine and on Tuesday relax at the full service bar with $5.00 martinis. Early bird dinners, available every night include soup, salad and entrée for $13.95. 1776 also features American wines, microbrewery beers, single malt scotch and an extensive port selection. 1776 has won several awards from the Wine Spectator for its 500 bottle wine list. The atmosphere at 1776 is casual and the staff is experience and well trained. 1776 is on Route 14 in Crystal Lake and is open for lunch Monday through Friday and for dinner Monday through Saturday.
