Corky Siegel's Chamber Blues

Corky Siegel's Chamber Blues

With Sam Lay and Rollo Radford

Saturday, November 22, 2008   7:30 pm

Lay, one of the most celebrated virtuoso drummers in blues history, began his auspicious career in 1957 as drummer for the Original Thunderbirds. Radford, bassist and singer/songwriter, began his professional career at the age of 19 when the legendary jazz vocalist, Dinah Washington, gave him his start. He then went on to join the very popular Top 40s sensation, Martha and the Vandellas. This show walks the line between Beethoven and B.B. King.

“Gritty Chicago blues and rarefied classical chamber music might not seem like a match made in heaven—until you’ve heard Corky Siegel bring the two together … a crowning achievement.” – Chicago Tribune
