About Mike Lebovitz
Lebovitz’s comedy career began at the age of six with clowning classes at the local JCC. He’s been delighting and confounding audiences big and small ever since with his offbeat, yet accessible brand of humor. An accomplished actor, director and writer as well, he draws from a broad range of disciplines in building his act which uses outlandish viewpoints and subversive turns of phrase to highlight the inherent absurdity of being. He doesn’t point out life’s little quirks, he revels in them! Lebovitz trained in improv at Chicago’s famed comedy institution iO Theater, where he performed with house teams Roadster and Ned Beatty. Lebovitz was also a founding member of the semenal four-man-alt-improv group, The Party!. After an unexpected epiphany prompted him to give up ensemble work, he dedicated himself exclusively the craft of stand-up comedy. He now performs his act all over the Midwest and is a favorite at Chicago-area comedy parlors like Zanies, Comedy Sportz, Barrel of Laughs, Chicago Underground Comedy, the Lincoln Lodge, Cigars & Stripes, Edge Comedy and The Comedians You Should Know Show. His good buddy Joe Fernandez and he produce and host The Early Weekend Show, a monthly stand-up comedy showcase at Holiday Club in Chicago. Learn more about Lebovitz.
