Aspiring actors will embark on a journey to discover the perfect monologue that resonates with their unique talents and aspirations. Finding a monologue isn’t just about selecting any piece—it’s about finding a character and story that authentically reflects your voice and strengths as a performer. This class will focus on exploring a variety of sources such as plays, movies, and even literature. Look for monologues that align with age, gender, and cultural background, as authenticity can greatly enhance your performance.

Course Will Include:

• Understanding Character Exploration: Learn techniques to delve deep into characters’ motivations, emotions, and conflicts to find monologues that align with your skills and interests.
• Navigating Genres and Themes: Explore a variety of genres, from comedy to drama, and themes such as love, loss, ambition, and identity. Understand how different genres and themes can showcase your versatility as an actor.
• Choosing Age-Appropriate Material: Gain insights into selecting monologues that fit your age range, cultural background, and personal experiences, ensuring a genuine portrayal that resonates with casting directors.
• Crafting Your Performance: Learn strategies to analyze and interpret monologue texts effectively. Develop skills in character development, pacing, and emotional delivery to bring depth and authenticity to your performance.
• Audition Preparation: Practice techniques for preparing and presenting monologues in auditions. Students will have the opportunity to explore multiple monologues, receive personalized guidance, and refine their performance skills in a supportive and collaborative environment

Tasha Guevara – Hailing from Trinidad and growing up in Brooklyn New York, Tasha recalls always being deeply impressed by music and movies. Some of her earliest music education moments came via browsing the 45 record collections of her uncles. Though music was among her first loves, Tasha for many years pursued her career in Acting and Education. She has held DJ residencies all over NYC and has served as a sound designer for multiple theater companies. She also has several independent movies, TV appearances, and commercials under her belt. In her spare time, she served as a teaching artist in the NYC school system.
