Theatre Etiquette/Code of Conduct

We ask that patrons be respectful inside the theater. This applies to all ages and includes talking, cell phone use, intoxication, vocal outbursts, and general disturbances. We reserve the right to remove any patron from the theater causing a disturbance to other patrons and the performance.

We ask that you refrain from wearing hats during the performance, so as to not obstruct the views of other patrons. Please remember to turn off all cellular phones and electronic watch alarms before entering the theatre. 

You are required to sit in the seat noted on your ticket. If you’re seated in another patron’s seat, it may delay or disrupt the start of the show. For more information on Raue Center’s code of conduct click here

Photography

NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY at any time. Please be mindful that the illumination from cellular phones and other electronic devices can cause glare for the performers and pose a hazard to safety. Photography and video recording restrictions are set by our visiting artists. Violators may be subject to removal.

William Street Repertory & Theatrical Productions

Photos and videos of the set pieces on stage, as well as any photos or video/audio recordings of live theatrical productions, are prohibited due to our contractual agreement with Actor’s Equity Association.

This measure is put into place to protect the intellectual property of the designers who create the various elements of our productions. As the producing theater, we are obligated to enforce this “No Photo/Video/Audio” policy. We appreciate your cooperation.

Personal Items

Bags and other personal belongings are subject to search at the discretion of theater staff. Items not allowed in the building or theater include outside food, alcohol, pets, laser pointers, pocketknives, and weapons of any kind, including toy weapons such as toy guns or knives.

Conceal and carry is not permitted at Raue Center. Thank you for your cooperation.

Covid-19 Safety Policy

Lost Tickets

There is a $2 per ticket service charge for reprinting lost tickets.

Refunds

Ticket purchases are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Ticket exchanges between two people or after an event has occurred are not honored.

Fees

Etix, our ticketing agent, charges a $3 per-ticket fee to process the ticket purchase in their system. This fee is waived for RaueNOW Members of all levels.  A Premium Seat Fee of $5 will be applied to seats indicated by a light blue color on the seating chart. These seats are in prime locations and provide additional legroom. A $7 facility fee (per order) supports the maintenance of Raue Center’s historical venue. Raue Center is recognized by the League of Historic American Theatres and the facility fee helps support the upkeep of the theater, and provides for various free events and initiatives in our community like our Veterans program which allows veterans to see shows for free throughout the year!

Tax Deductible Ticket Donations

If you are unable to use a ticket, please consider returning it to Raue Center as a tax-deductible donation. Tickets must be returned to Raue Center Box Office at least one hour prior to the performance.

Student & College Tickets*

Student Tickets for students 17 and under are available for select events at a special discount rate of $7*

College Student Tickets(with valid college ID) are available for $10*

Group Rates*

Bring a group of 10 or more people and receive special discounted ticket rates. Rates are as follows:

10-20 people = 12% off
21-50 people = 18% off
51+ people = 25% off

Will Call

If you’ve opted to pick up your tickets prior to showtime, you may do so up to  1 hour prior to the event start time at Raue Box Office “Will Call.” They will be under the name of the purchaser unless otherwise requested.

Credit Card Charges

As with most business transactions, Credit Card Companies secure a hold on amounts to be deducted. Once the sale is finalized the final amount will be billed.

Fraud Alert! Patrons Beware of unauthorized 3rd party Ticketing Sites

Raue Center rarely works with third-party vendors. In the event you are contacted by someone outside of our organization, claiming to reach out on our behalf, please disregard and contact our Raue Center team directly. And always avoid third-party ticket resellers!  Avoid high ticket prices and fraudulent charges by purchasing directly from rauecenter.org or calling our box office at 815-356-9212.

Do not make copies of tickets or attempt to sell copies of tickets. Transferring tickets to a second party requires an original purchaser ID.

 


RaueNOW Ticket Exchange Benefit

RaueNOW Members may exchange their tickets for another Raue Center event within the season year.

Present your tickets to Raue Center Box Office at least one business day before your purchased performance and select the new performance you would like to attend. If the new performance has a higher ticket price, you’ll need to pay the difference, however, with a lower ticket price, the difference is non-refundable.

You may also exchange your tickets for a tax-deductible contribution to Raue Center’s Annual Campaign.

Processing & Facility Fees

Processing Fee* – A $4 per ticket processing fee supports the software that enables all ticket sales. The processing fee is waived for RaueNOW Members of all levels on qualifying purchases.

Facility Fee* – A $8 per order facility fee supports the maintenance and preservation of Raue Center’s historic venue. Recognized by the League of Historic American Theatres, this fee helps fund theater upkeep and supports free community events and initiatives, including our Veterans program, which offers free show tickets to veterans throughout the year.

Refunds

Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Raue Center does not offer refunds on tickets purchased even if the performance is canceled or postponed.

In the unlikely event of cancellation for any reason, Raue Center will strive to reschedule the event but it is clearly understood that the cancellation might not be possible with the Artist.

In the event the performance cannot be rescheduled, a credit for a future Raue Center show(s) will be issued. Please contact the Box Office for more information.

Programs, dates, and times are subject to change. All ticket sales are final.

Parking

Downtown Crystal Lake has an abundance of parking space available both at and near the Raue Center For The Arts. If you need more information regarding parking please contact the Box Office at 815.356.9212. If you’re arriving by train, The Crystal Lake stop of Metra’s Union Pacific/Northwest Line stops less than two blocks from the Theatre. The last train to Chicago departs at 11:59 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 p.m. weekends. For the most up-to-date schedules please check the Metra website.

Accessibility

Raue Center is a fully accessible theatre. Contact our Box Office to find out how we can accommodate you or let us know how we can improve your experience. To request specific accommodations, contact Maribeth Ling at boxoffice@rauecenter.org or call 815-356-9212.

Seating & Mobility

Accessible seats are available throughout several areas of the theatre including near the front and back of the main floor as well as in our balcony in the wheelchair bays.

Patrons can utilize the elevator found in the vestibule to access the balcony as well as the public restrooms. We also have 2 accessible stalls in the ladies’ room, one including a changing station, and 2 accessible stalls in the men’s room.

We also have accessibility to the backstage area (for on-stage seating as needed) by way of a wheelchair lift. We have accessible doors out of the vestibule as well as out of the front doors to exit the space. The back door to the backstage area can be accessed by way of a ramp to the back parking lot.

Hearing & Health

We do offer hearing devices that connect to our sound system to assist those who need them.  They can be checked out at the box office.

There are times service dogs will be in attendance with some of our patrons. We ask fellow patrons to please NOT handle the dogs – only those to whom the dogs belong can take care of them.

Early seating is possible for anyone with prior arrangements or discussions with Raue Center’s Box Office staff.

Gift Certificates

GIVE THE GIFT OF ENTERTAINMENT!

Gift certificates can be purchased for any dollar amount and are redeemable for tickets to any Raue Center production. If the total amount of the gift certificate is not used for the first transaction, the remaining balance can still be applied to future ticket purchases.
