Raue Center School For The Arts is excited to reveal its 2nd Annual Devised Holiday Production with Nick Hrutkay returning as director, following the success of last year’s The Disturbing Disappearance of St. Nicholas. What better way to celebrate the holidays than by crafting a brand-new show featuring music, singing, dance, comedy, drama, and more?

What is Devised Theatre?

Devised Theatre is a hands-on exploration of various techniques aimed at creating a world-premiere play. Cast members, in collaboration with the creative team, collectively develop a new 60-minute piece without an existing script, with the cast members also taking on the role of performers. This process enables the cast to enhance their skills in collaboration, ensemble work, improv, acting, and playwriting through contemporary theatre exercises, bringing an original holiday tale to the stage.

Whether you enjoy acting, singing, dancing, writing or wish to hone your skills, this production is tailored for you. No prior experience in devised theatre is required. Simply bring your creativity to the table and be prepared to embark on a journey of exploration.

Video Auditions:
What to Prepare for Your Video Submission

  • Monologue (Memorized. 1-minute maximum length, age-appropriate)
  • 16-32 bars of a memorized song. (Tracks or piano accompaniment are encouraged, No acapella, please)

  • There will be NO in-person auditions or callbacks for this production workshop. The director lives out of state so all casting will be made based on your video and writing submissions. You will be contacted via email if you are cast.
